Gur dhayya, raskat rise as demand picks up

Gur dhayya and raskat prices rose by up to Rs 100 per quintal in the wholesale Jaggery market today on pick-up in demand against less arrivals.

A similar better trend extended to neighbouring area of Muzzafarnagar. 

Market analysts said pick-up in demand against less arrivals from producing areas mainly pushed up wholesale gur dhayya and raskat prices.

At Delhi, gur dhayya rose by Rs 100 to Rs 3,300-3,400 per quintal on pick-up in local demand. At Muzzafarnagar, gur raskat moved up by Rs 50 to Rs 2,400-2,500 per quintal.    

Following were today's quotations per quintal:  

Chakku Rs 2,850-2,950, pedi Rs 3,060-3,160, Dhayya Rs 3,300-3,400, and Shakkar Rs 3,200-3,300
Muzaffarnagar: Raskat Rs 2,400-2,500, chakku Rs 2,500-2,650 and Khurpa N.T
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,750-2,800 and Dhaya Rs NA
