Gur ends quiet in thin trade

Weak conditions developed on the wholesale gur (jaggery) market in the national capital today as prices moved in a narrow range on alternate bouts of trading and ended at previous levels.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also ended flat on some support.

Market analysts said adequate stocks position against limited buying support, mainly kept gur prices steady.   

Following were today's quotations in Rs per quintal:

Chakku: Rs 2,200-2,250, pedi Rs 2,200-2,250, Dhayya Rs 2,250-2,300, and Shakkar Rs 2,400-2,450
Muzaffarnagar: Raskat Rs 1,750-1,850, chakku Rs 2,000 - 2,200, and Khurpa Rs 1,950-2,000
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,000-2,050 and Dhaya Rs 2,000-2,050
