Gur ends quiet in thin trade

The wholesale gur (jaggery) prices remained steady in the national capital today as prices moved in a narrow range on alternate small bouts of trading and settled at previous levels. 

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur prices also hovered around overnight closing levels on thin trade.

Market analysts said scattered buying activity and restricted arrivals mainly kept gur prices steady.  

Following were today's quotations per quintal:

Chakku Rs 2,300-2,350, pedi Rs 2,350-2,400, Dhayya Rs 2,350-2,400, and Shakkar Rs 2,550-2,600
Muzaffarnagar: Raskat Rs 1,850-1,950, chakku Rs 2,050-2,250 and Khurpa Rs 2,000-2,050
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,100-2,150 and Dhaya Rs 2,100-2,150
