Gur falls on sluggish demand

Gur prices drifted up to Rs 150 per quintal in the national capital today on restricted buying against increased arrivals.

Marketmen said adequate stocks position following increased arrivals from producing belts against restricted buying mainly led to fall in wholesale gur prices.

In Delhi, gur dhayya suffered the most by losing Rs 150 to Rs 2,650-2,700, while chakku lost Rs 100 to Rs 2,450-2,500 per quintal.

In Muzzafarnagar, gur chakku and khurpa also drifted by Rs 100 each to Rs 2150-2275 and Rs 2050-2100 per quintal. 

In line with a general weakening trend, gur pedi in Muradnagar, shed Rs 50 to Rs 2300-2350 per quintal.

Chakku Rs 2,450-2,500, pedi 2,500-2,550 Dhayya Rs 2,650-2,700 and Shakkar Rs 2,600-2,700
In Muzaffarnagar: Raskat Rs 1,925-2,000 chakku Rs 2,150-2,275 and Khurpa Rs 2,050-2,100
In Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,300-2,350 and Dhaya Rs 2,550-2,600
