Gur prices declined by Rs 8.80 or 0.92 per cent to Rs 944 per 40 kg in futures trading today on profit booking by traders, amid weak spot market cues.

Marketmen said, sluggish demand and increased supply in physical markets, mainly guided trading to book profits at the existing higher levels.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange platform, the gur for September contract lost Rs 8.80, or 0.92 per cent to Rs 944 per 40 kg, with an open interest of 4,500 lots.

Current June-month contract delivery also fell Rs 7.40 or 0.76 to Rs 962.40 per 40 kg, with an open interest of 14,950 lots.
