Gur prices rose by Rs 11.40, or 1.39 per cent to Rs 831.80 per 40 kg, in futures trade today, as speculators created fresh positions, supported by poor stocks at spot markets.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, gur delivery for November-month contract went up by Rs 11.40, or 1.39 per cent to Rs 831.80 per 40 kg, with an open interest of 2,070 lots.

The July-month contract delivery also traded Rs 7.40, or 0.74 per cent higher at Rs 1,004.60 per 40 kg, with an open interest of 18,480 lots.

Marketmen said good buying activity by traders and poor supply due to rising mercury led to a rise in gur prices here in future trade.
