Gur moves up on paucity of stocks

Gur shakkar prices improved upto Rs 100 per quintal today following paucity of stocks, amid pick-up in demand.

Muradnagar gur market showed a better trend as prices of gur pedi and dhayya gained by Rs 50 per quintal, respectively on better offtake.

Market analysts said less arrivals of fresh stocks pushed up gur prices. In Delhi, gur shakkar prices moved up from Rs 2,700-2,800 to Rs 2,800-2,900 per quintal.

In Muradnagar, gur pedi and dhayya quoted higher by Rs 50 each to Rs 2,300-2,350 and Rs 2,350-2,400 a quintal, respectively. 

However, prices in Muzaffarnagar remained steady in thin trade.

Following were today's quotations in Rs per quintal.

Chakku Rs 2,400-2,450, pedi 2,550-2,600, Dhayya Rs 2,600-2,650 and Shakkar Rs 2,800-2,900
In Muzaffarnagar: Raskat Rs 1,850-1,925, chakku Rs 2,300-2,400 and Khurpa Rs 2,150-2,200
In Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,300-2,350 and Dhaya Rs 2,330-2,400
