Gur pedi declines on subdued demand

In restricted activity, prices of gur pedi fell by Rs 25 per quintal on the wholesale gur (jaggery) market today owing to slack demand, against adequate stocks position.

Marketmen said adequate stocks position against sluggish demand led to a fall in wholesale gur pedi prices.

At Delhi, gur pedi declined by Rs 25 to Rs 2,725-2,825 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations in Rs per quintal:

Chakku Rs 2,800-2,900, Pedi Rs 2,725-2,825 and Dhayya 3,050-3,100, shakkar Rs 3,000-3,100
In Muzaffarnagar: Raskat Rs 2,000-2,050, chakku Rs 2,325- 2,500 and Khurpa N.T
In Muradnagar: Pedi 2,600-2,650 and Dhaya N.A
