Gur pedi prices up in steady market

Gur pedi prices improved by Rs 50 per quintal in the national capital today on the back of restricted supply against pick-up in demand.   

Market analysts said reduced arrivals from manufacturing areas against increased offtake mainly pushed up gur pedi prices. Gur pedi gained from Rs 2,900-3,000 to Rs 2,950-3,050 per quintal.   

Elsewhere, other gur varieties moved in a tight range on small bouts of trading before ending at last levels.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur market also ended on a quiet note on little doing.

Following were today's quotations per quintal: 

Chakku Rs 2,800-2,900, pedi Rs 2,900-3,000, Dhayya Rs 3,100-3,200, and Shakkar Rs 3,100-3,200
Muzaffarnagar: Raskat Rs 2,250-2,325, chakku Rs 2,425-2,550 and Khurpa N.T
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,650-2,700 and Dhaya Rs NA
