Gur pedi weakens on subdued demand

Barring a marginal fall in gur pedi, prices generally held steady on the wholesale Jaggery market today in thin trade.

Muzzafarnagar, and Muradnagar, showed a steady trend in limited deals.

Market analysts said subdued local demand against sufficient stocks position helped gur pedi prices to trade slightly lower.    

At Delhi, gur pedi prices shed Rs 10 to Rs 3050-3150 per quintal.  

Following were today's quotations per quintal: 

Chakku Rs 2,850-2,950, pedi Rs 3,050-3,150, Dhayya Rs 3,300-3,400, and Shakkar Rs 3,200-3,300
Muzaffarnagar: Raskat Rs 2,400-2,500, chakku Rs 2,500-2,650 and Khurpa N.T   
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,750-2,800 and Dhaya Rs N/A
