Gur prices decline on ample supply

Gur prices extended losses by falling Rs 50 per quintal in the national capital today owing to ample supply against scattered buying.

Marketmen said increased arrivals and slackness in demand mainly led to a fall in gur prices.

On the other hand, gur prices ruled flat in Muzzafarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets on little doings.

In Delhi, gur chakku traded lower from Rs 2,300-2,350 to Rs 2,250-2,300 per quintal, while gur dhayya quoted lower at Rs 2,350-2,400 from Rs 2,400-2,450 per quintal.

Shakkar prices also fell from Rs 2,500-2,600 to Rs 2,500 -2,550 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations in Rs per quintal:

Chakku Rs 2,250-2,300, pedi 2,300-2,350 Dhayya Rs 2,350-2,400 and Shakkar Rs 2,500-2,550
In Muzaffarnagar: Raskat Rs 1,750-1,875 chakku Rs 2,050-2,250 and Khurpa Rs 1,950-2,000
In Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,050-2,100 and Dhaya Rs 2,050-2,100
