Gur prices down on ample supply

Gur prices ended lower by Rs 50 per quintal in the national capital today following ample supply against reduced offtake.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur market also finished lower by Rs 75 per quintal on sluggish demand. Traders said increased supply, sparked by mounting of ready stocks, mainly caused the down fall in gur prices. 

In Delhi, gur chakku went down by Rs 50 to end at Rs 2,250-2,300 per quintal, gur pedi also fell by Rs 50 to Rs 2,400-2,450 per quintal. 

At Muzaffarnagar, gur chakku and khurpa slipped from Rs 2,050-2,250 and Rs 2,000-2,050 to settle at Rs 2,000-2,200 and Rs 1,950-2,000 per quintal, respectively. 

 

Gur raskat also dropped from Rs 1,975-2,050 to Rs 1,900-1,975 per quintal on poor off-take by alcohol making industries. In Muradnagar gur pedi quoted lower from Rs 2,175-2,225 to Rs 2,150-2,200 per quintal.

Chakku Rs 2,250-2,300, pedi Rs 2,400-2,450, Dhayya Rs 2,450-2,500, and Shakkar Rs 2,600-2,650
Muzaffarnagar: Raskat Rs 1,900-1,975, chakku Rs 2,000-2,200 and Khurpa Rs 1,950-2,000
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,150-2,200 and Dhaya Rs 2,150-2,200
