Gur prices fall on ample supply, sluggish demand

Gur pedi prices dropped by Rs 50 per quintal in the national capital today, following ample supply amid sluggish demand.

Muradnagar and Muzaffarnagar gur market also witnessed a fall of Rs 50 per quintal on slackness in demnd.

Market analysts said increased arrivals and sluggish demand mainly pulled down gur prices.

In Delhi, gur pedi prices lost from Rs 2,350-2,400 to settle at Rs 2,300-2,350 per quintal.

At Muzaffarnagar, gur khurpa prices slipped from Rs 2,050-2,100 to Rs 2,000-2,050 per quintal, respectively.

Turning to Muradnagar, gur pedi and dhayya prices quoted lower at Rs 2,050-2,100 and Rs 2,100-2,125 instead of Rs 2,100-2,125 and Rs 2,125-2,150 per quintal, respectively.

Following were today's quotations in Rs per quintal.

Chakku Rs 2,300-2,350, pedi 2,300-2,350, Dhayya Rs 2,350-2,400 and Shakkar Rs 2,550-2,600
Muzaffarnagar: Raskat Rs 1,750-1,850, chakku Rs 2,100-2,250 and Khurpa Rs 2,000-2,050
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,050-2,100 and Dhaya Rs 2,100-2,125
