Gur prices gain on fresh buying

Gur prices strengthened by Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today, following strong demand amid restricted supply.

Marketmen said paucity of stocks, triggered heavy buying by retailers and stockist, mainly caused the sharp rise in gur prices.

However, Muzzafarnagar and Muradnagar gur mandies showed a divergent trend with the rise in muzsafarnagar on fresh buying support, while muradnagar gur market witnessed a fall due to arrivals of new gur.

In Delhi, gur chakku jumped up by Rs 200 to settle at Rs 3,000-3,050 from Rs 2,800-2,850 per quintal.

Gur pedi and shakkar also hardened from Rs 2,800-2,900 and Rs 2,900-3,000 to finish at Rs 2,900-3,000 and Rs 3,000-3,100 per quintal, respectively, showing a rise of Rs 100 per quintal.  

 

At Muzzafarnagar gur raskat spurted from Rs 1,950-2,000 to winding up at Rs 2,050-2,100 per quintal on fresh demand from beer making industries.

Chakku and khurpa also went up from Rs 2,600-2,700 and Rs 2,425-2,500 to end at Rs 2,750-2,875 and Rs 2,500-2,600 per quintal, showing a net gains up to Rs 150 per quintal.

On the other hand, Muradnagar gur market showed a fall in gur pedi and dhayya, prices dropped from Rs 2,850-2,900 and Rs 2,750-2,800 to close at Rs 2,750-2,800 each per quintal.

Chakku Rs 3,000-3,050, pedi 2,900-3,000 Dhayya 2,950-3,000 and Shakkar Rs 3,000-3,100

In Muzaffarnagar: Raskat Rs 2,050-2,100 chakku Rs 2,600-2,700 and Khurpa 2,500-2,600

In Muradnagar: Pedi 2,750-2,800 and Dhaya 2,750-2,800
