Gur prices plunge on sluggish demand, increase supply

Gur prices drifted by Rs 300 per quintal in the national capital today following poor buying support amid increased supply.

Marketmen said sluggish demand and ample stocks position pulled down gur prices.

Shakkar prices tumbled from Rs 3,400-3,500 to settle at Rs 3,100-3,200, showing a net loss of Rs 300 per quintal. 

Pedi plunged from Rs 3,100-3,200 to Rs 3,050-3,100 per quintal, while chakku went down from Rs 2,950-3,000 to Rs 2,900-2,950 per quintal.

Turning to Muzzafarnagar, gur chakku slipped from Rs 2,700-2,850 to Rs 2,600-2,700 per quintal, showing a net loss of Rs 150 per quintal. 

Gur raskat also turned weak from Rs 2,150-2,250 to Rs 2,150-2,200 per quintal on reduced offtake by beer makers.

In Muradnagar: Pedi N.A. And Dhaya N.A
