Gur rises on paucity of stocks, increased demand

Gur prices firmed up to Rs 150 per quintal in the national capital today on paucity of stocks against increased demand.

Marketmen said paucity of stocks on less arrivals from the producing region due to rains, against increased demand pushed up wholesale gur prices.

At Delhi, gur pedi rose by Rs 150 to Rs 3,000-3,100 while shakkar gained Rs 100 to Rs 3,100-3,200 per quintal.

In Muzzafarnagar, gur chakku moved up to Rs 2,550-2,650 from previous level of Rs 2400-2575 per quintal.

Gur pedi in Muradnagar also shot up by Rs 150 to Rs 2,850 -2,900 per quintal.

Chakku Rs 2,800-2,900, Pedi Rs 3,000-3,100 and Dhayya N.T., shakkar Rs 3,100-3,200

In Muzaffarnagar: Raskat Rs 2,050-2,100, chakku Rs 2,550 -2,650 and Khurpa N.T.     In Muradnagar: Pedi 2,850-2,900 and Dhaya N.A
