Gur rises on pick up in demand

Gur prices rose upto Rs 50 per quintal on the wholesale wholesale jaggery market today on pick up in demand against restricted arrival.  

Market analysts said restricted arrivals against increased demand from stockists and local parties mainly led to rise in gur wholesale prices. 

At Delhi, gur shakkar rose by Rs 50 to Rs 2,600-2,650 per quintal on local parties demand.

In Muzzafarnagar, gur raskat also gained Rs 50 to Rs 1,975-2,050 per quintal. Gur pedi in Muradnagar, too traded higher by Rs 25 to Rs 2,175-2,225 per quintal. 

Following were today's quotations per quintal:

Chakku Rs 2,300-2,350, pedi Rs 2,450-2,500, Dhayya Rs 2,450-2,500, and Shakkar Rs 2,600-2,650
Muzaffarnagar: Raskat Rs 1,975-2,050, chakku Rs 2,050-2,250 and Khurpa Rs 2,000-2,050
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,175-2,225 and Dhaya Rs 2,150-2,200
