Gur rises on tight arrivals, pick up in demand

Gur prices rose upto Rs 125 per quintal in the national capital today on emergence of buying by stockists and local parties against restricted arrivals.

Marketmen said increased buying by stockists and retailers on hopes of a rise in demand in the coming festival season pushed up wholesale gur prices.

They said firming trend in sugar also influenced the trading sentiment to some extent, they said.

At Delhi, gur pedi rose by Rs 50 to Rs 3,000-3,050 per quintal. In Muzzafarnagar, gur chakku shot up by Rs 125 to Rs 2,500-2,650 per quintal. 

Gur pedi in Muradnagar, also gained Rs 50 to Rs 2,850- 2,900 per quintal.

Chakku Rs 2,850-2,900, Pedi Rs 3,000-3,050 and Dhayya N.T., shakkar Rs 3,100-3,200

In Muzaffarnagar: Raskat Rs 1,950-2,000, chakku Rs 2,500-2650 and Khurpa N.T
In Muradnagar: Pedi 2,850-2,900 and Dhaya N.A.
