Gur slides on sluggish demand

Gur prices fell up to Rs 150 per quintal in the national capital today on sluggish demand against increased arrivals.

Marketmen said sluggish demand against increased arrivals from producing regions mainly kept pressure on the wholesale gur prices.

At  Delhi, gur Chakku fell by Rs 100 to Rs 2,400-2,450 per quintal. It had lost Rs 150 per quintal in the previous session. 

In Muradnagar, gur dhayya also dropped by Rs 150 to Rs 2400-2450 per quintal, while, gur in Muzzafarnagar, held steady.

Following are today's quotations in Rs per quintal:

Chakku Rs 2,400-2,450, pedi 2,500-2,550 Dhayya Rs 2,650-2,700 and Shakkar Rs 2,600-2,700
In Muzaffarnagar: Raskat Rs 1,925-2,000 chakku Rs 2,150-2,275 and Khurpa Rs 2,050-2,100
In Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,300-2,350 and Dhaya Rs 2,400-2,450
