Gur (jaggery) prices firmed up by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today following restricted supplies amid pick-up in demand.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur prices also settled higher on the back of firm demand and paucity of stocks.
Market analysts said fall in production along with increased offtake mainly pushed up gur prices.
Diversion of sugar-cane towards sugar mills by farmers due to higher prices also helped to boosted the trading sentiment.
