Gur weakens on sluggish demand

Gur prices fell up to Rs 50 per quintal in the national capital today on sluggish demand against adequate stocks position.

Marketmen said adequate stocks position against sluggish demand mainly led to a fall in wholesale gur prices. 

Weakening trend in sugar also influenced the trading sentiment, they said. At Delhi, gur pedi declined by Rs 40 to Rs 2,900-3,000 per quintal.

In Muzzafarngar, gur raskat also fell by Rs 50 to Rs 2,000-2,050 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations in Rs per quintal:

Chakku Rs 2,800-2,900, Pedi Rs 2,900-3,000 and Dhayya N.T., shakkar Rs 3,100-3,200
In Muzaffarnagar: Raskat Rs 2,000-2,050, chakku Rs 2,400-2,575 and Khurpa N.T
In Muradnagar: Pedi 2,700-2,750 and Dhaya N.A
