Hand Textile Units Plan Long March To Delhi

Apprehending 10 per cent rise in the process cost following imposition of central excise duty on processes carried out on cotton fabrics, the hand processing units across the country fear the burden may cost the jobs of 2.5 lakh workers working in cotton processing units in the next few months.

Workers of the Rs 12,000 crore industry, concentrated in Rajasthan and Gujarat, plan to march to New Delhi on March 24 if the duty is not rolled back.
