Hang Seng hits 11-month closing high

Asian markets mostly ended in the green today.

The Hang Seng rallied 554 points to settle at its 11-month closing high at 20,929. The Nikkei advanced 112 points to close at a fresh 10-month high at 10,524, bouyed by better-than-expeected US jobs data.

The Straits Times and the Sanghai Composite ended flat.

The Taiwan Weighted was up 14 points to close at 6,882.

However, the Sanghai Composite declined 10 points to settle at 3,249.

The Hang Seng has gained 450 points (2%) at Rs 20,852.

The Nikkei has added 100 points to 10,512.

The Shanghai Composite has slipped 16 points to 3,245.

 

The Seoul Composite is flat at 1,573 and the Taiwan Weighted Index is up 14 points at 6,883.

Asian markets are in the green this morning.

Japan's Nikkei has surged 148 points (1.5%) to hit a 10-month high of 10,560 after data from both Asia and US showed that the economy is on the road to recovery. The Hang Seng has rallied 510 points (2.5%) to 20,885.

The Shanghai Composite has added 31 points (1%) to 3,292. The Taiwan Weighted and the Seoul Composite are up marginally at 6,879 and 1,582, respectively.
