HCC gains on Rs 300cr order from Delhi Metro

HCC has been awarded a Rs. 300 crore contract by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd.

Shares of Hindustan Construction Company were up over 3% at Rs 18.60 after the company said it has been awarded a Rs. 300 crore contract by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd.

This contract is for design and construction of 1.54 km long twin tunnel on Dwarka-Najafgarh metro corridor of phase Ill of Delhi Metro. This is the third contract for underground metro received by HCC since October 2012 under the phase Ill development of Delhi Metro aggregating Rs. 1539 crore, the company said in a release.

The contract also includes construction of the biggest underground station and the work will be completed in 36 months, the release said.
 

The stock opened at Rs 18.50 and touched a high of Rs 18.90 on the BSE. Over 2.2 million shares were traded so far on both the stock exchanges.
