HCL Technologies turns ex-bonus today

The company has fixed March 20,as record date for the purpose of ascertaining the entitlement of the members for the issue of bonus shares in the ratio of 1:1.

Shares of HCL Technologies were trading lower by 1% at Rs 990 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), after the stock turned ex-bonus today in the ratio of 1:1.

The stock opened at Rs 995 and touched a low of Rs 976 on the NSE. Till 0921 hours, a combined 443,605 shares changed hands on the counter on the NSE and BSE.

The board of directors of the information technology company at its meeting held on January 30, 2015, had recommended the issue of bonus shares in the ratio of 1:1 i.e. one equity share for every one equity share held.

The company has fixed March 20, 2015 as record date for the purpose of ascertaining the entitlement of the members for the issue of bonus shares. Bonus shares are free shares given to the existing shareholders of a company.

Meanwhile, post bonus and December quarter results announcements, the stock had rallied nearly 22%, compared with 2.5% fall in the benchmark CNX Nifty till yesterday.
