Bhel has advanced 5.6% to Rs 1,382. HDFC has surged 4% at Rs 2,101. HDFC Bank is up 3.6% to Rs 1,130.
Ambuja Cements has gained 3.4% to Rs 82. NTPC has advanced 2.9% to Rs 161. Bharti has gained 2.8% to Rs 777.
Tata Steel, TCS, SBI, L&T, Jaiprakash Associates, Reliance, DLF, Reliance Infra, ICICI Bank and Cipla are the other gainers.
Hindustan Unilever is down 1.5% to Rs 234. Grasim has declined 1.2% to Rs 2,217 and ITC has lost 1% to Rs 201. Reliance Communications has slipped 0.4% to Rs 550 and Tata Motors has lost less than half per cent.
