Hindalco GDR up

The Instanex Skindia DR Index (ISDI) was up 0.83 per cent to 857.00 on June 8 in early morning trades in the western markets. Among ISDI global depository receipts (GDRs), two advanced, one remained unchanged and four lost ground.
 
The gainers were Reliance, up 0.71 per cent to $21.40, registering volume of 33,400 GDRs and Hindalco, up 0.41 per cent to $21.48.
 
The major losers were Ranbaxy, down 2.40 per cent to $22.40, registering volume of 3,000 GDRs, ITC, down 0.94 per cent to $21.05 and Bajaj Auto, down 0.25 per cent to $19.60, registering volume of 9,463 GDRs.
 
The ISDI, which represents the ADRs and GDRs of 15 actively-traded companies, had closed up 1.62 per cent to 854.98 on the previous day and was trading at a price to earnings multiple of 15.45 (up by 1.47 per cent).
 
Among the ISDI ADRs, six advanced and two lost ground.
 
The major gainers were HDFC Bank, up 4.33 per cent to $28.67, registering volume of 144,700 ADRs, Infosys, up 3.61 per cent to $84.70 and VSNL, up 3.15 per cent to $6.55, registering volume of 101,600 ADRs.
 
The losers were ICICI Bank, down 0.76 per cent to $13.10, registering volume of 144,700 ADRs and Satyam Computer, down 0.05 per cent to $19.17, registering volume of 272,200 ADRs.
 
Elsewhere in the world, the US stocks were set to open on a flat note on Tuesday after the previous session's rally. Equity index futures pointed to a flat opening.
 
Standard & Poor's 500 stock index futures for June were off 0.7 point, while Nasdaq 100 futures for the same month were down 1.0 point. Dow industrials futures were off three points.
