Hindalco, Infosys Post Losses

The Instanex Skindia DR Index (ISDI), which tracks 15 actively traded Indian depository receipts, edged up 0.11 per cent to 521.39 on Tuesday in early trades.

The ISDI premium was down 1.17 per cent to 9.92 per cent. There were no gainers among Indian global depository receipts (GDRs).

The GDR of Hindalco was traded down 0.58 per cent at $11.74 in morning deals.

On Monday, the ISDI ended with modest gains of 0.13 per cent to 521.08. The ISDI P/E ratio also edged up by 0.19 per cent to 11.08.

On Monday, Indian securities settled lower overriding the negative sentiment on the Nasdaq. Infy, the Infosys Technology ADR, shed $1.02 to $62.70; Wit, the Wipro ADR eased 9 cents to $29.86; and Say, the Satyam Computer ADR, tumbled one cent to $10.75.

 

However, banking stocks witnessed a mixed trend. IBN, the ICICI Bank ADR ended flat at $7.13, but HDB, the HDFC Bank ADR edged 12 cents to $16.21.

Also, a mixed trend was seen in telecom stocks. VSL, the VSNL ADR, posted strong gains of 23 cents to $3.97, but MTE, the MTNL ADR, dropped 10 cents to $4.35.
