Hindustan Zinc surges on strong Q2 results

 The counter has been on the rise in the last few months on the back of firm zinc prices in the international markets.

 Hindustan Zinc is the largest producer of zinc and lead in India. The company is said to be undertaking a major expansion programme to double the current manufacturing capacity.

 The company has posted a net profit of Rs 94.64 crore for the quarter ended 30 September 2003, as compared to a net profit of Rs 31.10 crore for the corresponding quarter last year. Total income for the quarter has also increased to Rs 453.49 crore, from Rs 323.40 crore in SQ-02.
