Illycaffe, the espresso coffee brand, has decided to source part of its needs of high quality coffee beans from India over the next few years. This should come as a breather for the ailing coffee industry.
The company is looking to enter into purchase agreements with multiple high quality coffee growers. To select growers, the company has drawn up a novel purchasing strategy. It has instituted its First India Coffee Quality Award for Espresso and winners of the award would be identified as best growers for quality coffee. Illycaffe would then select them as the company
