The pharma major has seen some selling pressure on news of falling prices of AIDS drugs. This could have an adverse impact on Cipla, as it is one of the largest seller of AIDS drugs in the country.

Despite the already rock-bottom prices, demand for AIDS drugs continues to be a problem as the price is still too high for patients in developing countries. However, market participants feels that the scrip should rebound over the next few weeks.

On the back of positive development on the privatisation front, the PSU oil major Hindustan Petroleum scrip vaulted 22 per cent on Friday alone.

 

The government has finally decided to go ahead with the privatisation of state-owned oil companies. The stock markets were even more excited about HPCL as the sale of the stake to a strategic partner would involve an open offer on part of the acquirer.
