Technology shares ended mixed, Infosys dipped 0.7%, TCS was down 0.3% and Wipro fell 2.9%. However Patni Computers bucked trend and surged 1.8% on iGate deal news.
Investors cashed out of banks, HDFC Bank declined 3.4% and ICICI Bank fell 2.3%.
From the metal pack, sterlite fell 1.7%. From the pharma space Dr. Reddy fell 0.7% and Tata Motors fell 3.2% from the auto space.
