Indian Adrs Gain Currency

The Instanex Skindia DR Index (ISDI), which tracks 15-actively traded Indian depository receipts, advanced 1.15 per cent to 496.06 on Thursday in London in early trades.

GDR of Bajaj Auto rose 2.39 per cent to $10.30 in morning trades. Larsen & Toubro jumped 0.90 per cent to $7.86, Hindalco added 0.70 per cent to $11.58 and State Bank of India edged up 0.61 per cent to $14.74.

However, ITC GDR shed 0.15 per cent to $13.48 in early trades. On Wednesday, Indian securities listed on the US exchanges advanced. Infy, the Infosys Technologies ADR, rose $1.10 to $62.50; Wit, the Wipro ADR, jumped $1.09 to $29.39 and Say, the Satyam Computer ADR, climbed 34 cents to $8.82.

 

Beleaguered tech lesser weight SLT, the Silverline Technologies ADR, also grew 6 cents to $1.46. However, Sify, the Satyam Infoway ADR tumbled 13 cents to $3.75.

Internet stock Redf, the Rediff.com ADR, jumped 12 cents to $3.12. IBN, the ICICI Bank ADR, gained 14 cents to $6.29 and HDB, the HDFC Bank ADR, rose 12 cents to $15.80. Telcom stocks also rose.

VSL, the VSNL ADR, edged up 6 cents to $3.29 and MTE, the MTNL ADR, jumped to $4.20. Pharma scrip RDY, the Dr Reddy
