Castorseeds bold and castor oil commercial prices declined in an otherwise sluggish oil and oilseeds market here today on subdued demand from shippers and soap industries amid bearish global cues.
Castorseeds futures also witnessed a downtrend over poor export orders. Refined palmolein moved down on reduced retail offtake amid lower Malaysian cues.
Meanwhile, groundnut oil, and linseed oil remained stable in the absence of market moving factors.
In the non-edible section, castorseeds bold slipped by Rs 40 per 100 kg to Rs 5,225 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 5,265 and castor oil commercial declined by Rs 8 per 10 kg to Rs 1,075 as compared to Rs 1,083 previously. Linseed oil held steady at Rs 710 per 10 kg.
In the futures trade, castorseeds for September delivery resumed slightly higher at Rs 5,275, but later drifted to end at Rs 5,240 from Rs 5,270 previously, showing a further loss of Rs 30 a tonne.
Moving to edible section, refined palmolein moved down by Rs 3 per 10 kg to Rs 556 from Rs 559 yesterday. Groundnut oil ended unaltered at Rs 970 per 10 kg.
