Infy Crash, T+2 Singe Delivery Volumes In Apr

Delivery volumes as a percentage of total traded volumes on the two major exchanges declined 225 basis points in April 2003 from the levels in March.

The combined delivery volume on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) aggregated 1,061 million shares, accounting for 26 per cent of the total traded volumes in April 2003.

In March 2003, delivered shares aggregated 936 million, accounting for 28.25 per cent of the total traded shares.

The lower share of delivered shares in the total traded volumes in April indicates that investors were reluctant to take delivery.

There are two obvious reason for this. The operators and investors were afraid of taking fresh positions after the Infosys Technologies
