The industries department along with Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board and Karnataka State Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation are also drawing up a plan for road shows covering Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi and Kochi. |
The two-day 'Investors Meet' will be held in Mysore on October 20 and 21 and is expected to attract investments in Mysore, Kodagu, Chamarajnagar and Mandya districts, said state industries minister P G R Sindhia here on Monday. |
Some IT companies and a few industries from Coimbatore have already expressed their willingness to invest in Mysore, he added. |
The minister said that parts of Mysore, Chamrajnagar and Kodagu are rich in natural resources and have plenty of scope for heritage, wildlife and eco-tourism. On the other hand the plains of Mandya and Mysore have potential for agro-based industries. |
The commerce and industries ministry is also planning to implement D M Nanjundappa Committee report on Redressal of Regional Imbalances. The state government has released Rs 35 crore for reviving co-operatives in north Karnataka. In addition to state government's aid, central assistance is also targetted by raising Rs 25 crore from Nabard, he said. |
"Before implementing the report, the affected districts' deputy commissioners have been asked to furnish details of industry infrastructure, raw material availability and manpower status," he added. |
