IPO volumes in Asia Pacific down 86% at $163 mn

Equity capital market (ECM) volumes for the Asia-Pacific region (excluding Japan) stood at $163 million for the first week of January, down as much as 86% over the previous week, according to Dealogic.

The transactions generated $8 million in revenue during the week.

ECM refers to the aggregate of initial public offerings and follow-on offers in the region.

The largest ECM transaction during the week under review was that of Xizang Haisco Pharmaceutical Group’s $127m IPO via CITIC Securities.

The mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions volume summed up to as much as $1.7 billion, of which four deals were valued over $50 million in size.

In the debt market segment, corporate bonds totalled $1.2 billion in volume, down 77% from $5.2 billion the previous week.
