IT majors down 3%; Nifty down 55 pts

ACC has gained 4.8% to Rs 520, Bhel has advanced 3.7% to Rs 1,520. Hindalco and R-Comm are up 1.3% each while L&T has advanced 1.2%.

Jaiprakash Associates and Tata Motors have declined 3.6% each to Rs 154 and Rs 378. Satyam Computer is down 3.5% to Rs 465, TCS is down 3% to Rs 826 and Infosys has lost 2.9% to Rs 1,749.
