ITC, Bajaj Auto GDRs post gains

The Instanex Skindia DR Index (ISDI) was up 0.20 per cent to 1022.90 in morning trades on Monday in the western markets.
 
Among ISDI global depository receipts (GDRs), five gained and two lost ground. Among gainers were ITC, up 6.46 per cent to $27.68, Bajaj Auto, up 3.52 per cent to $21.75, and State Bank of India, up 2.63 per cent to $39, registering a volume of 8,056 GDRs.
 
Major losers were Reliance Industries, down 1.35 per cent to $29.25, a volume of 27,538 GDRs, and Larsen and Toubro, down 0.09 per cent to $24.60.
 
On the previous day, the ISDI - which represents the ADRs and GDRs of 15 actively traded scrips - ended down 0.26 per cent to 1,019.15.
 
Among ISDI ADRs, six advanced and two lost ground. Among ISDI ADRs and GDRs, there were 11 gainers and four losers.
 
Major gainers were VSNL, up 6.77 per cent to $8.83, registering a volume of 386,300 ADRs, HDFC Bank was up 0.80 per cent to $30.41, a volume of 40,800 ADRs, and ICICI Bank was up 0.68 per cent to $14.90, a volume of 193,300 ADRs.
 
Major losers were Dr Reddy's Labs, down 12.57 per cent to $25.45, registering a volume of 3,487,500 ADRs, and MTNL was down 2.99 per cent to $7.14, a volume of 493,800 ADRs.
 
The GDRs of ITC and Bajaj Auto rose sharply to $27.68 and $21.75, respectively, against $26.00 and $21.01, previously.
 
The GDR of Reliance Industries increased to $29.03 from $29.14 previously.
