Stocks of ITC hit an intra-day high of Rs 821, before closing 0.98 per cent higher at Rs 817.50. More than 2.38 lakh ITC shares were traded on the BSE.
The counter showed volatility today, following a freak deal in the morning trades. Earlier, the counter hit an intra-day low of Rs 789. The counter has been gaining in the last few sessions.
According to market buzz, the freak deal was a deliberate attempt to lift the ITC counter.
