ITC GDR up

The Instanex Skindia DR Index (ISDI) was up 0.34 per cent to 838.95 on July 20 in early morning trades in the western markets. Among ISDI global depository receipts (GDRs), four advanced and three lost ground.
 
The major gainers were ITC, up 3.51 per cent to $23.30, L&T, up 1.96 per cent to $16.15, registering volume of 10,240 GDRs and Reliance, up 1.58 per cent to $19.30, registering volume of 2,790 GDRs.
 
The losers were Bajaj Auto, down 2.39 per cent to $18.40, registering volume of 600 GDRs, Hindalco, down 1.50 per cent to $23.00, registering volume of 5,000 GDRs and SBI, down 0.44 per cent to $22.50.
 
The ISDI, which tracks the ADRs and GDRs of 15 actively-traded scrips went up 0.34 per cent to 838.74 on July 19 and was trading at a price to earnings ratio of 15.29 (up by 0.61 per cent).
 
Among ISDI ADRs, four advanced and four lost ground and among the ISDI ADRs and GDRs, there were nine gainers and six losers.
 
The major gainers were VSNL, up 2.38 per cent to $7.30, registering volume of 51,000 ADRs, ICICI Bank, up 1.93 per cent to $12.13 and Wipro, up 1.90 per cent to $15.56, registering volume of 152,300 ADRs.
 
The main losers were Satyam Computer, down 2.74 per cent to $18.48, registering volume of 197,400 ADRs, Dr Reddy's, down 1.21 per cent to $17.14, registering volume of 81,300 ADRs and Infosys, down 1.13 per cent to $46.47.
 
The GDRs of ITC and Bajaj Auto firmed up to $23.30 and $18.85, respectively, from $22.51 and $18.48. The GDR of Hindalco was also quoted lower at $23.06 as compared to $23.35 earlier.
