The Instanex Skindia DR Index (ISDI), which tracks 15 actively traded depository receipts, dropped over 1 per cent to 492.79 on Friday in early trades in London. The GDR of ITC (up 0.07 per cent) was the only gainer among Indian GDRs.

The major losers were Bajaj Auto (down 2.71 per cent), Reliance (down 1.24 per cent) and Hindalco (down 0.76 per cent).

GDRs of Mahindra & Mahindra were heavily traded in the morning session today, registering volumes of around 1,30,000.

On Thursday, ISDI had shed by 1.18 per cent to close 494.33. While the ISDI P/E ratio also fell further by 1.20 per cent to 10.49.

 

Meanwhile, Indian securities settled mostly lower on the US stock exchanges on Thursday. Infy, the Infosys ADR, shed $1.29 to $57.61; Wit, the Wipro ADR, eased 26 cents to $29.18 and Say, the Satyam Computer ADR, dropped 25 cents to $9.82.

However, Sify, the Satyam Infoway ADR, edged up 14 cents to $3.52 and SLT, the Silverline Tech ADR, added 1 cent to $0.45.

On Thursday, the Dow Jones industrial average dropped 101.61 points to 7673.99. The S&P 500 index dipped 7.75 points to 822.10 and the Nasdaq composite fell 11.51 points to 1302.89.

Elsewhere, key Asian markets plunged on Friday on escalating fears of a war in West Asia. In Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 average dropped 2.7 per cent to 8,144.12. The broad Topix dipped 2.46 per cent to finish at 796.17.
