The Sensex is now down 248 points at 12,855.
Jaiprakash Associates has slumped 6.7% to Rs 113. ICICI Bank has plunged 5.3% to Rs 531. Tata Motors has tumbled 4.7% to Rs 356.
Satyam and DLF have shed around 4% each at Rs 308 and Rs 355, respectively.
TCS, SBI and Maruti have dropped 3.7% each to Rs 651, Rs 1,382 and Rs 657, respectively.
Sterlite has slipped 3.5% to Rs 432. HDFC and Reliance Communications have declined 3% each to Rs 2,023 and Rs 337, respectively.
Tata Steel, Infosys, Grasim and Bharti Airtel are down around 2.5% each at Rs 450, Rs 1,412, Rs 1,718 and Rs 758, respectively.
Hindustan Unilever has soared 4.5% to Rs 264. Ranbaxy has gained 2.4% at Rs 279.
BHEL has moved up 1.6% to Rs 1,575, and ITC is up over 1% at Rs 195.
