Jeera down 0.7% on adequate supply

Jeera for delivery in September moved down by 0.39%

Jeera prices prices moved down by 0.77% to Rs 13,280 per quintal in futures market today owing to adequate supplies from producing regions against subdued demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in August month fell by Rs 102.50, or 0.77%, to Rs 13,280 per quintal with an open interest of 1,182 lots.

Similarly, jeera for delivery in September moved down by Rs 52.50, or 0.39%, to 13327.50 per quintal in 11,490 lots.

Market analysts said subdued demand in the spot market against adequate supplies from producing regions mainly influenced jeera prices at futures trade.
