Jeera down 0.8% on higher supply, weak demand

Jeera for delivery in August traded lower by 0.79%

Jeera prices moved down by 0.85% to Rs 13,157.50 per quintal in futures trade today on higher supplies from producing regions against weak demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in July moved down by Rs 112.50, or 0.85% to Rs 13157.50 per quintal with an open interest of 5,646 lots.

Likewise, jeera for delivery in August traded lower by Rs 107.50, or 0.79% to Rs 13527.50 per quintal in 16,215 lots.

Market analysts attributed the slide in Jeera futures to higher supplies from producing regions against weak demand in the spot market.
