Jeera prices fell by Rs 105 to Rs 13,460 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators booked profits at prevailing higher levels, driven by weak export demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in July fell by Rs 105, or 0.77%, to Rs 13,460 per quintal, with an open interest of 13,581 lots.

The August contract lost Rs 102.50, or 0.73%, to Rs 13,900 per quintal, with an open interest of 13,359 lots.

Market analysts said besides profit-bookings by speculators, weak export demand led to a decline in jeera prices at futures trade.
