Jeera falls on subdued demand

Jeera prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal today owing to weak local and export demand at existing higher prices.

Jeera common prices fell by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 13,600-13,800 per quintal.

Market analysts said reduced offtake by stockists and exporters, pulled down jeera prices on the wholesale kirana market here.

Elsewhere, prices of other commodity ruled steady on scattered deals.

Ajwain 12,500-19,000, black pepper common 23,600-23,00 betelnut (kg) 120-145, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,100-1,110 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,200-1,350

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 1,300--1,350, cardamom (colour robin) 1,370-1,380, cardamom bold 1,390-1,400, cardamom extra (bold) 1,490-1,500 and cloves (kg) 340-400
