Jeera futures traded Rs 367 higher at Rs 14,389 per quintal today supported by lower stocks in the market.
However, weak export demand capped the gains.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, jeera for delivery in February traded Rs 380, or 2.66 per cent higher, at Rs 14,650 per quintal, with an open interest of 13,179 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in January moved up by Rs 367, or 2.62 per cent, to Rs 14,389 per quintal, with a business turnover of 11,271 lots.
Market analysts said dwindling stocks in the spot market influenced jeera futures prices here but subdued export demand, restricted the gains.
