Jeera remained under pressure and prices fell by another Rs 98, or 0.66 per cent, to Rs 14,670 per kg in futures trade today mostly due to subdued exports.

However, a decline in supplies in spot markets and diminishing stocks and reports of lower crop estimates in Syria and Turkey, capped losses.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange platform, jeera for September fell by Rs 98, or 0.66 per cent, to Rs 14,670 per 100 kg, with an open interest of 15,696 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in October traded lower by Rs 70, or 0.47 per cent, to Rs 14,899 per 100 kg, with an open interest of 12,312 lots.

Analysts said subdued exports demand for jeera attributed to the fall in spice prices at futures market here but falling stocks and lower output of crops in Syria and Turkey capped losses.
