Jeera futures prices drifted by Rs 82 to Rs 15,650 per quintal today, as speculators booked profits at existing higher levels.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, jeera for delivery in February fell by Rs 82,or 0.52 per cent to Rs 15,650 per quintal, with an open interest of 2,871 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in December lost Rs 68, or 0.45 per cent to Rs 15,090 per quintal, clocking a trade volume of 10,884 lots.

Marketmen said besides profit taking by speculators at prevailing higher levels, subdued demand in the spot market led to a decline in jeera futures prices.
